Compania Britanic\u0103 a Indiilor de Est \u00ee\u0219i dorea s\u0103 elimine astfel monopolul Chinei \u00een comer\u021bul cu ceai.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"644\" src=\"https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/masala-chai-1024x644.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-4404\" srcset=\"https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/masala-chai-1024x644.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/masala-chai-300x189.jpg 300w, https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/masala-chai-768x483.jpg 768w, https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/02\/masala-chai.jpg 1500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 767px) 89vw, (max-width: 1000px) 54vw, (max-width: 1071px) 543px, 580px\" \/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen anii 1774, Warren Hastings, Guvernatorul Bengalului, a trimis c\u00e2teva semin\u021be de ceai chinezesc emisarului s\u0103u britanic din Butan, George Bogle, pentru a le planta. \u00cen aceea\u0219i perioad\u0103, colonelul Robert Kyd a \u00eencercat \u0219i el s\u0103 cultive semin\u021be chineze\u0219ti de ceai \u00een gr\u0103dina botanic\u0103 pe care o fondase \u00een India, dar f\u0103r\u0103 succes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00cen <strong>1823<\/strong>, exploratorul sco\u021bian <strong>Robert Bruce<\/strong> a descoperit o plant\u0103 care cre\u0219tea \u00een Valea Superioad\u0103 a Brahmaputrei, regiunea <a href=\"https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/povestea-ceaiului-assam\/\"><strong>Assam<\/strong><\/a>, \u0219i care era consumat\u0103 ca infuzie de tribul local Singhpho, av\u00e2nd un gust asem\u0103n\u0103tor cu ceaiul chinezesc. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De\u0219i Robert Bruce a murit \u00eenainte s\u0103 ob\u021bin\u0103 clasificarea plantei, fratele s\u0103u i-a continuat munca \u0219i \u00een 1834 a trimis mostre din planta respectiv\u0103 la Gr\u0103dina Botanic\u0103 din Calcultta. Planta\u021biile de ceai din Darjeeling au luat na\u0219tere oficial \u00een anul 1841, la ini\u021biativa lui Archibald Campbell, superintendent \u00een zon\u0103. Mul\u021bi al\u021bii au \u00eenceput s\u0103 experimenteze cultivarea semin\u021belor chineze\u0219ti, iar dezvoltarea comercial\u0103 a planta\u021biilor a \u00eenceput aici \u00een anii 1850.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Rezultatele excelente ob\u021binute din cultivarea ceaiului \u00een Assam \u0219i Darjeeling au inspirat \u0219i al\u021bi \u00eentreprinz\u0103tori s\u0103 fondeze <strong>planta\u021bii de ceai la poalele mun\u021bilor Himalaya \u0219i \u00een alte regiuni ale Indiei,<\/strong> printre care Kumaon, Dehra Dun, Garhwal, Kangra Valley \u0219i Kulu \u00een nord (p\u00e2n\u0103 \u00een 1863, fuseser\u0103 create 78 de planta\u021bii) \u0219i Nilgiri \u00een sud (\u00een 1832, la ini\u021biativa Dr. Christie). Mai multe despre ceaiurile cultivate \u00een aceste zone g\u0103se\u0219ti <a href=\"https:\/\/doro-tea.ro\/blog\/varietati-mai-putin-cunoscute-de-ceai-indian\/\">aici<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>C\u00e2nd britanicii au plecat din India, \u00een<strong> 1947,<\/strong> industria ceaiului nu s-a pr\u0103bu\u0219it, ci a continuat s\u0103 prospere \u0219i <strong>s-a extins,<\/strong> o parte dintre planta\u021bii fiind preluate de antreprenori locali.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Consumul de ceai <\/strong>\u00een India a evoluat sub diferite forme, aproape fiecare regiune av\u00e2nd propria variant\u0103 de <em>chai<\/em>.
